My Toddler’s Most Searing Insult Yet
Yesterday, my two-year-old daughter was reaching for a toy I had put away until she finished dinner. She was angry at me and didn’t waste time letting me know.
“Mommy, shoo!” she said. “Buzz off and go make some honey!”
Buzz off and go make some honey?
Is that a toddler’s way of saying, “$#@! you?”
I’m not sure where she picked that up from, but it’s fantastic. I am going to add that to my repertoire of insults to lob at people who displease me. It almost feels like something a prim-and-proper Southern lady might say if, “Bless your heart” doesn’t quite drive it home.
