Twenty or so years ago, my sister went to our local antique store to buy me a birthday present. She found a creepy coconut man (or perhaps a monkey) and thought it would be a funny gift. Years later, I found him in a box… and here’s how my two-year-old daughter reacted.
We’re big fans of the Melissa & Doug Pullback Vehicles, which are a favorite of my two-year-old daughter and are increasingly grabbed by my four-month-old son. The four plush vehicles can be pulled back to race across the floor—and apparently my head, which lead to an unexpected haircut today.
I’m not sure where my two-year-old daughter picked this up from, but it’s fantastic. I am going to add that to my repertoire of insults to lob at people who displease me.
Facebook memories reminded me of conversation I had last year at Grand Central Terminal while visiting New York City with my then-one-year-old daughter. We had some time to kill, so we walked to the upper level platform to see how many trains were sitting idle in the station. While doing so, I passed a mother holding her toddler son.
My toddler was flipping through books today, including The Disney Princess Treasury. She doesn’t know how to read yet, so she’ll make up stories and titles strictly from the photos alone when she’s reading by herself.
